Naturally, with great quality comes great responsibility, but this modern vendor has it under control. Right down to reusable canvas delivery bags and RFID tag technology. Whether you love natural fabrics with dreamy patterns or glamorous sequinned bling, here’s the lowdown on fine linen hire.
OL Which La Tavola linens do you recommend for common wedding and event styles?
LT “Our Tuscany Collection which is a natural, textured linen is great for outdoor events because of the organic, natural feel of the linen. Our Peau De Soie Collection is a satin-like fabric great for traditional ballroom style events. Our Milano collection is full of patterned and colorful options that make a great addition to any outdoor spring or summer event. Our Nuovo Collection is a great basic option to throw on anything from the dining and cocktail area, to bar backs and food station tables.
All of our linens come in a range of sizes, but almost everything comes in a standard 134” Round and an 8 ft. King’s Drape. They’re perfect for any event from an intimate dinner for two to a backyard BBQ or formal wedding. They’ve been used for photo shoot backdrops, to draping for holiday décor and more. Every event is unique and there are endless ways to use and style each one, so it’s fun to see how each event utilizes our linens differently!”
OL Your Instagram is full of beautifully styled La Tavola linens. What styling advice do you have for wedding and event hosts planning their décor?
LT “Make it your own! There are endless ways to use and style each linen, so you can use décor like florals and tabletop items to really create a unique experience for guests that is a reflection of your taste and personal style. You can create contrasts by introducing pops of color, create an eclectic bohemian feel by mixing pattern and color, or keep things classic with a more monochromatic color scheme. Whatever your style is, it can be reflected in styling your tablescape. Just remember to have fun with it!
Depending on the event, I would personally want to use one of our more textured and patterned linens, like the Dante Indigo. This has a fun, bohemian feel to it and it would be beautiful on cocktail tables with votives, or on dining tables with bold florals. It is easy to stick with classic and simple but if you’re able to mix patterns and use bold linens, do it!”
OL Your linens are of such luxurious high quality!
LT “Our creative team sources fabric from all over the world to find the best materials, styles and textures. All of our napkins have mitered edges and most of the more delicate napkins are lined with cotton on the inside for easy use. Even our cost effective polyester collection, also known as our Nuovo collection, is made of a high quality spun polyester that is much more luxurious than traditional polyester, which can often feel slick and inexpensive.”
OL La Tavola have such a wide range of linens, where should people start?
LT “A great way to start is by answering a few simple questions. Is your event more formal or casual? Are you open to prints or are you wanting to stick with a solid linen? For a formal event where you want to stick with a solid color linen I would point people in the direction of our Bella Collection, Dupioniques Collection, or Velvet Collection. For formal with prints check out our Dolce Collection or our Pompeii Collection. For something more on the casual side when you love a bold (or soft) print, our Milano Collection is the place for you! For solids without shine, our Nuovo Collection or natural linen Tuscany Collection are your best bets. We have everything from solids in multiple styles and colors to patterns, sequins, and velvets.
Navigating by price point is another way to narrow down the options. I like to break things down by price and pattern. To start, our Nuovo Collection (our polyester collection) is the most cost effective and versatile option. These come in a range of different sizes and colors. Next, we offer a silky satin-like linen that is more of a middle of the road price. This is our Peau de Soie Collection – perfect for a ballroom style event. From there, most of our patterns and textures jump to the $55–$59 range and upward of that for sequins, lace, and more intricate linens.”
OL What can people expect when visiting your beautiful showrooms across the United States?
LT “When you walk into a La Tavola showroom you are greeted by one of our lovely sales coordinators who will ask what you are looking for. They typically ask for details about the event like where it will be, what type of event it is, and what the feel of the event will be. We typically pull the colors or styles that you request or give you ideas of what would look best with the venue and style of the event. After you choose a linen we’ll place an order and give you swatches to take home with you.
A typical day in the showroom (for us) consists of communicating with clients via phone and email about current and future orders, showroom appointments with clients and brides, and connecting with our warehouse to fulfill orders for last minute orders. We have an emergency after hours phone line should a client need to contact someone in our warehouse.”
OL What information should people have handy before ordering their linens?
LT “Definitely pay close attention to sizing. Our La Tavola team is happy to help you with measurements for unique table sizes. Double-checking delivery and pick up dates and times to make sure they work for the venue and your coordinator is very important as well.
We recommend securing your linens a month to two before your event to make sure they are available, especially during the busy fall months. We ask that you email or call into a showroom to place the order. If the linens are available and confirmed, we ask for a 50% deposit and you are able to reduce or cancel up until a week before it leaves our warehouse in Napa. Any one of our customer service representatives, sales coordinators, or sales executives are happy to help make recommendations with linen selections as well!”
OL One of the benefits of using La Tavola is that your beautiful linen hire is supported by efficient logistics and technology like RFID.
LT “An RFID chip is sewn into each full-sized linen so that we can easily scan out linens for orders and keep track of where each linen is at any given time. When a linen is returned it’s scanned into our warehouse … As each linen is scanned it shows that it’s returned in our computer system, so we are able to open an order and see what’s missing and what has been returned. This also helps immensely with keeping track of inventory when placing orders as we can see exactly how many of each linen we have available!
Everything outside of California is Fed Ex’d back to our warehouse in Napa using our reusable canvas shipping bags. At our warehouse each linen begins its journey through our tunnel washer. We have a wonderful team that inspect each linen before and after they’re washed and dried for more problematic issues that require special attention. We have a team of magic workers (and some great cleaning supplies) that remove tricky stains like red wine!”
OL There’s no doubt La Tavola linens are stunning (over 100K Instagram followers can attest to that) but what is it that you love about your linens?
LT “That we carry a wide variety of linens and have plenty of options for all different types of events, clients, venues, and budgets. We pride ourselves on the high quality of our linens and that we carry very unique one of a kind options for all types of events.
We source our fabrics form top-notch manufacturers around the world who craft their products for prominent interior design, home décor, and fashion industry leaders. Far from standard rental-grade fabrics, we look for the best in the design and fashion worlds, melding quality with style.”
