Gloria and Zee’s celebration blended ethereal styling with personal touches to create a wedding that could have fallen from the pages of a classic novel.
Gloria and Zee visualised an ethereal, elegant wedding and their celebration exceeded all expectations. Starting with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and ending with a Gangnam style dance by the bride and her father, this beautiful Vancouver wedding merged classic styling with personal touches in the most beautiful way. Blush Wedding Photography captured Gloria and Zee’s beautiful day with their perfect blend of editorial and photojournalistic photography. Full credits and photographer bio below.
Gloria and Zee each wore Christian Louboutin shoes - their red soles spoke to Zee's Chinese culture where red represents good luck.
Having met at dental school Zee popped the question while snowshoeing at Grouse Mountain and the couple were engaged for over a year before their wedding.
Bride’s Advice: "The extra time allows everyone to coordinate and have enough communication, not to mention reduces frustration close to the wedding." – Gloria, Bride.
Music played a large role in the celebration. Gloria’s walk down the aisle was to Arioso by Johann Sebastian Bach and the couple entered their reception to a string version of Beauty And The Beast. Their first dance was a tango to Por Una Cabeza by Carlos Gardel, after which a groomsman serenaded the reception with Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra.
Styling Tip: "It was Gloria's dream to include chandeliers. To soften the space without taking away from the natural beauty of the structure we draped nude chiffon over the columns with chandeliers hung in between, plus overgrown vines 'growing' up them." – Heather Siu, Myrtle et Olive.
Guests received favours of olive oil calligraphed with each guest’s name and wax sealed with the couple's monogram.
Every detail of their day spoke to the couple’s ethereal vision from stationery, to décor, to the stunning wedding cake and dessert spread. They embraced their venue’s fine art setting with a 120-guest reception draped in classic pastel hues.
In keeping with the elegant tone of their wedding day Gloria and Zee honeymooned in Paris, France.
Honouring their personal histories (Gloria is from Korea and Zee from China), the morning began with a Chinese tea ceremony, Korean rice cakes were served at cocktail hour, and the couple changed into traditional attire during the reception.
